When it comes to generating power for rotational movements like throwing a ball, swinging a bat, pushing a door open, smashing a tennis backhand, or even pushing a vacuum, there's nothing that beats the lunge exercise to prepare your body.

The "Spiraling" system of external rotation that comes from your ball and socket joints during this lunge movement is crucial not only for strain free efficient movement, it's also what preserves and protects your fragile upright posture.

When it comes to finding a comfortable sitting posture, this sitting posture imagery will help you enjoy a strong and stable center without even having to "think" about it!

The power of your IMAGINATION to rewire your brain is everything!  

Not only is developing a clear vivid picture in your mind crucial to creating what you want in life, it works the same way with creating the strain free posture and movement you need to continue to live an active and fulfilling life!

Of course the images you watched in the video merely scratch the surface as far as what's possible BUT…

What's MOST important here is the concept of "pushing away" from your support points just like an infant trying to verticalize.

These automatic perfect posture programs are inside you but, unfortunately, like I told one of my private clients yesterday, we get "viruses" that corrupt our inborn programs of perfect posture.

These "viruses" happen when your bodymind is infected with a mental, physical, or nutritional stress.

The new damaging "stress induced" programs infect the system and pretty soon your inborn programs of health, renewal, growth, and expansion become really hard to access.

You know the symptoms…don't you?  

Communication suffers, things run slower, and sometimes the entire system crashes to force you to identify and eliminate the viruses.

It's the same thing with your bodymind. 

You must identify and eliminate the stresses that are blocking your ability to naturally flow into your perfect posture pattern of growth, peace, renewal, and expansion!

Then, when you follow the imagery exercise in the video, you can access your original, beautiful, perfectly designed posture with greater ease and never feel drained again by a long day of sitting!

Avoid Back Injuries With This Simple Functional Fitness Move

One of the top fitness trends for 2010 that actually makes sense is "Functional Fitness".

This means training your body with movements that actually mimic real life situatations or "activities of daily living".

In this short but VERY impactful video, I talk about the most basic functional fitness move that you MUST incorporate into your everyday living or else suffer the eventual consequences of debilitating back pain, sciatica, and hip problems.

 I have literally seen people die (one very recently) because of a back pain episode that caused horrible disability and depression.

Barefoot Technology…Earthing At Charlestown Park

The benefits of "earthing" are absolutely amazing!

 

I did a presentation on this about 6 months ago at the office and during my research, this is what I discovered about the benefits of actually getting your body connected with the earth:

1.  Anti-Oxidants!  That's right…when your body is exposed to toxins,gets rid of toxins, makes energy, fights off viruses, or makes hormones, it is breaking your body down and leaving behind an unpaired electron called a "free radical".

The free electrons that flood your body when you connect yourself to the earth go to work to neutralize those suckers and keep you from rotting like an apple (also known as AGING!)

2.  Helps ground you and protect you from all the electromagnetic pollution you're exposed to everyday like cell phones, wireless internet, powerlines, etc. 

3.  When you're barefoot on the earth, you are also flooding your nervous system with "afferance" or input that does three things 1. blocks pain  2. relaxes tight muscles 3. increases coordination to the brain!

When you wear shoes, this crucial input is GONE!  And paradoxically, you end up with more ankle sprains, hip and knee problems, and a greater likelihood of falling (and sometimes NOT being able to get back up!).

So take your shoes off, soak up some electrons from all those lightning strikes, improve your balance, and get back in tune with the NATURAL WAY!

7-Step Natural Flu Battle Protocol

Since the FDA has been cracking down on people who dare say anything but a drug could be effective against H1N1 or the seasonal flu, (Dr. Andrew Weil has recently been threatened with jail time) The following information is for educational purposes only and not intended to treat or prevent any disease.

Use These 7 Tips If You Find Yourself

In The Middle Of The Flu!

 

1. Avoid sugar at all costs.  It puts your white blood cells to sleep

2. Drink green smoothies or green juice as much as possible.   It's a great time to take in nothing else BUT the smoothie or green juice if you have a juicer.  Here's one of my staple recipes:

Green Smoothie (stack blender in this order) – 1 green granny smith apple, 2 stalks of celery, 1 cucumber, ¼ to ½ lemon, big bunch of Kale, ½ an avocado (binds smoothie so it doesn’t separate), 1 tsp to a tablespoon or MORE of chopped fresh ginger root, fill with water or coconut water, add 4 or 5 ice cubes,  blend thoroughly and ENJOY in a nice glass! (just use apple/kale/lemon/ginger for a quickie) Check YouTube for other ideas and get creative yourself!!
 
3.  High dose Vitamin D3 : instead of the 5 to 10,000iu/day you should do for prevention or to build your tissue levels, I follow Dr. John Cannell, President of The Vitamin D Council's advice during the battle.  (*At the following dosage, vitamin D3 acts like a medicine, not a supplement!)
 
     Take 2,000 IU per kg (roughly 1000 IU per pound) of body weight per day for a week. I weigh 200 pounds, so I would take 200,000 IU per day for up to seven days (yes, it's a boatload! But check this recent study proving no adverse effects of even 300,000 IU! (Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, Volume 38, Number 2, 2009 , pp. 149-153(5).
 
4. High Dose Vitamin C (over the counter ascorbic acid can cause gut irritation and diarrhea at high doses so we use Ultra Potent C from Metagenics as our first choice, second form is a mineral ascorbate form)  I usually put 10 or 15 tablets in my pocket and and take 2 every 2 or 3 hours till their gone.
 
5. Boost Zinc - Use a chelated form like Zinc arginate picolinate, the -ate on the end is important.  Zinc AG from Metagenics is what I use to mobilize the immune cells into action.  Take up to 100mg/day but only for a short time until you get yourself out of the gutter.
 
6. Eat tons of garlic!  Just crunch on cloves throughout the day.  Very powerful herbal medicine.
 
7. Get adusted!  Chiropractic adjustments are proven to release "messenger molecules" like interleuken-2 to rouse the immune system into full force action!
 
REMEMBER…the underlying factor at the core of a struggling immune system is stress.  Do everything in your power to relax and rest your body, live in a state of gratitude for what you have instead of worrying about what you don't have!  As I talk about at length in the Immune Optimizer program, your immune system is a direct reflection of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

The Core Wellness Institute Approach To Health Care Reform

The arguments are fierce but as Dr.Saul says in the above video, what does it matter if the everyone gets access to health care if, fundamentally, it doesn't work?

The cold hard fact is that our American "Pill for Ill" health care system is the #4 leading causes of death from adverse drug reactions!

Let me say that again…IT'S THE 4TH LEADING KILLER!

And that's just from the adverse drug reactions from drugs that were prescribed "correctly" or "judiciously"!

And if you want to go even deeper, check out the monstrous report put together by Null, et al, proving that our health care delivery system is the #1 KILLER! (Counting hospital errors, infections caught in the hospital, etc, etc…)

THAT'S what we're all arguing about?  How to get access to the most expensive, ineffective health care system in the history of the universe?

Now…don't get me wrong…I am intensely grateful for the amazing technologies and phenomenally trained surgeons that can sew a limb back on if, heaven forbid, I was ever in a train wreck!

Can A Blender Destroy Nutrients? Plus…”A Big Smile on My Face”

Quick question…I just saw the "living well- health master blender" on TV, it heats blended food, does that destroy the nutrients of the food?  Can blended veggies be warmed on the stove, and still keep the nutritional value of the food?  I just meant warmed, not cooked or boiled.

Hi Teresa, that’s the one with Montel Williams, right?  I caught a bit of it one time and it looks like another similar to vitamix and blendtec.
 
Those high powered dudes can heat up food but the bottom line is whether or not they can break the plane of 105 degrees where  enzymes begin to denature or up to 118 degrees where they are completely destroyed.
 
NUTRIENTS and ENZYMES are distinct, remember…
 
You can still get nutrients from cooked food (although the quantity is greatly diminished) but you cannot get the enzymes…therefore it will take more of YOUR energy and enzymes to get the energy intensive digestive process done.
 
So it will TAKE energy from you verses GIVNG you energy (I’m speaking of free electrons that provide your electronegative charge that neutralize the damaging free radicals in your body)
 
So a food thermometer is the only way…especially if you attempt to use the stove.
 
But YES, you can enjoy a nice 100 degree bowl of raw soup and still get the enzyme benefits…one of the awesome reasons to have some sort of high powered blender!

I walked around all day yesterday with a big smile on my face. I woke up this morning after the first restful night of sleep in six months and couldn’t wait to start the day. What a difference!

Muscle Balance for Swimmers Pays Off At Champs!

Swimmers are awesome…

What’s really neat is how interested they are in their biomechanics and what and anything else to shave their times.

This past Saturday, from 7am to 5pm I evaluated and treated swimmers and their parents at the "Champs" swim meet in Jeffersonville and what a treat it was to see active kids!

IT WAS A  BLAST!

We got to meet so many wonderful people and spread the word about the power of muscle balance!


Lots of good success stories from our treatment sessions, too!  Not only were we able to shave some times, but we were also able to see some tension headaches and back pain disappear! 

Releasing human potential is such a joy!

Biggest find of the day was tight pecs and weak core stability systems. 

Although in the photo above I’m releasing the upper trap (common with stress induced muscle tension), it’s merely of sign of improper breathing and and an "uptight" center of gravity.

All reversible, too!  Below is a video I did a while back about how I treat it!
