I had back surgery L7/S1….herniated disc….no fusion….most recent mri shows that the nerve root is pressing against the scar tissue…I am in pain all the time….nothing has helped….I am unable to walk for a long time…about an hour on my feet and that is it…pain starts to travel up the back…been to physical therapy..it helped…but my medical coverage will not cover the cost and i was paying for it myself…but 45 dollars twice a week is too expensive….tried pain management…it didn’t help….prolotherapy was done…..that hurt even more..acupuncture didn’t help either….Can u help??? This had destroyed my life……..
This information has helped many people with post surgery pain and is definitely worth doing to provide better muscle balance and core stability.
I would look for a chiropractor who does soft tissue work like Active Release Technique or something similar. Knowledge of neural flossing and “Butler” mobilizations would also be helpful since you are dealing with internal scar tissue.
If bodywork and movement therapy is done correctly, you should not need continuous care…just enough to get you out of a rut and self empowered.
